Javier, 35 years old, Malaga
- Peugeot 308
- 40.000 km
- 5.800€ in repairs
- 9.000€ Expected Compensation
“I’m Javier, I’m 35 years old and I live in Malaga. I bought my Peugeot 308 with a PureTech engine in 2020 with a loan, thinking it was a good investment for my future. I was working as a salesperson and needed a reliable car for my daily commutes.
But then the pandemic hit and I lost my job. With just 40,000 km on the clock, the car started showing faults. First, the engine was overheating too quickly and then there was a metallic noise when accelerating. When I took it to the garage, they told me that the timing belt was broken and had contaminated the oil, causing damage to the engine and braking system. The repair cost 5,800 euros.
I was devastated. I’m still paying off the car financing and no longer have stable income to cover the costs of these unexpected repairs. I feel betrayed and abandoned. I decided to join the claim against Stellantis because I can’t afford these expenses and because I believe the company should take responsibility for this defect. I hope for compensation that will help me cover the repair costs and the depreciation of the car, which has significantly lost value due to this issue. I don’t want anyone else to go through this anguish.”
